we are fragments / scattered in the folds / tracing memories across fault lines

How do we move away from the margins? What does it mean to reclaim the outdoors?

As part of their commission for Edinburgh Art Festival, artist Aileen Angsutorn Lees explored our connections to the outdoors and how our surroundings affect what our bodies carry. This 18 month project comprised visual artwork, research, workshops and community engagement.

Layering the past, present and future, Tectonics is an artist book and archive where voices converge. Aileen weaves their writing and artwork with community voices and historical texts. Across 35 hand-bound pages narratives are interrogated, our stories held.
